Our story

From the lecture hall to the nave

Concordia Singers began with Valentina Oriani's wish to bring an ensemble to life. She called on a few musician friends and, within the Bocconi University community, sought out people from all over the world who wanted to sing.

The result is a deeply intercultural choir: different voices, languages and stories that meet every Sunday in the church of San Ferdinando, our home for now. What holds us together is the wish to sing together, something close to a missionary impulse towards beauty.

The name says what we look for each time: concordia, hearts in accord — different voices finding a single harmony, from the villancicos of Juan del Encina to Bach's chorales and the lullabies and carols of Europe's folk traditions.

Voices from Ireland, the United States, Estonia, Turkey and Italy: different sensibilities and emotions that meet and find their centre in Milan.

The ensemble

About us

Singers united by a passion for singing together. Our repertoire spans centuries of tradition — from the villancicos of the Spanish Renaissance to Bach, and on to Irish, Catalan and Czech traditional songs in twentieth-century arrangements.
